Indoors
We all know that the weather can be a barrier to keeping active during the winter months, but there are plenty of things we can do indoors to keep active too!
Hey Duggee and Joe Wickes
Does your little one enjoy watching ‘Hey Duggee’? Why not get active with Hey Duggee and Joe Wickes, they have some great youtube videos aimed at little ones. Fun and free! https://youtu.be/Psgs_e928H4
Musical Games
If you’re stuck in the house all day, why not make up a game. Have some children’s music lined up and tell your child that every time the music plays they have to jump up and dance. Turn it on at random times throughout the day to make it fun and exciting. Don’t forget, you can’t stop dancing until the music stops!
Outdoors
It might be a bit chilly, but wrap up warm and head outside for some fun this winter. There are so many places to explore in our beautiful county and here are just a few things you could do.
Go to the beach
That’s right, the beach isn’t just for summer! Not only is it less crowded in the winter, but you don’t have to worry about protecting your little one from the midday heat. Why not head down to build some sandcastles, or go hunting for interesting shells and stones? If you’re feeling adventurous you can always take them home to paint afterwards to continue the fun!
If you go down to the woods today………
If you want to try and avoid some of the elements, but still get outside, why not discover some of the wonderful woodlands nearby. IWalkCornwall have categorised walks in Cornwall into location, as well as ‘near a beach’ or ‘quieter walks’. We’re sure there’s something here to suit everyone, why not take a look; Woodland walks in Cornwall (iwalkcornwall.co.uk)
