Home-Start Family Visiting

Home-Start Kernow’s home-visiting volunteers come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all are either parents themselves or have parenting experience. Read more about some of our volunteers here. All volunteers attend a preparation course before being matched with a family. They then take their own individual skills and experience to the families they visit. Click here to Contact us

Family Groups

Volunteers help parents by offering practical and emotional support within organised groups.  You may offer to transport or accompany an anxious parent and help them fit into a group.  Within the group you will play with the children, build relationships with the parents and encourage them to enjoy family time.  A short training course will be provided.  If you have experience of looking after children in a personal or professional capacity and an interest in family groups please contact us.

Fundraising, Admin & Social Media

We are looking for that someone out there who likes talking and organising to help us look at new ways of raising funds; arrange events/collections or help out at events organised by Home Start Kernow.

We also welcome volunteers who would like to give time to help support us with administration tasks.  This area of volunteering would suit anyone who prefers to be office/home based.

Social media is key to promoting our service.  If you have a passion for social media you will find this is an exciting opportunity to showcase Home-Start Kernow through social media platforms.  If you have time to spare we would love to hear from you!

If this is you please contact us.

All volunteers will be required to complete a DBS check.
