Home-Start Kernow Needs You
Home-Visiting Volunteers
Home-Start Kernow’s home-visiting volunteers come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all passionate about helping Cornish families. Home-visiting volunteers are ‘matched’ with a local family and visit them in their home once a week and can support them practically and emotionally in a variety of ways.
All home-visiting volunteers go through a training programme, held online, and are offered ongoing training and supervision from our team of experienced staff. Read more about some of our volunteers here. Click here to Contact us
Volunteer Drivers
We run a popular Specialist Parenting group (for parents with learning difficulties) in Truro & Hayle and need volunteer drivers to transport these families to group. Drivers will need to be kind, friendly and reliable. All expenses are paid. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver, please contact us.
Family Group Volunteers
Volunteers help parents by offering practical and emotional support within organised groups. You may offer to transport or accompany an anxious parent and help them fit into a group. Within the group you will play with the children, build relationships with the parents and encourage them to enjoy family time. A short training course will be provided. If you have experience of looking after children in a personal or professional capacity and an interest in family groups please contact us.
Fundraising Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who like talking and organising to help us look at new ways of raising funds; arrange events/collections or help out at events organised by Home Start Kernow. We often have stands at various events across the county and would love some extra pairs of hands. If this is you please contact us.
