Looking for free things to do with young children in Cornwall this summer?
We’ve got you covered!
The summer holidays can be full of magical moments but let’s be honest, they can also feel very long. Regular play groups take a break, older siblings are home from school, everyone needs entertaining and endless snacks…..
That’s exactly why Home-Start Kernow’s Summer Picnics are back this summer!
Throughout August, we’ll be popping up in parks across Cornwall for relaxed, low-key family fun. Bring a picnic blanket, pack some snacks and join us for:
- Bubble play
- Arts and crafts
- Stories and songs
- Games and outdoor play
- Fun activities for babies, toddlers and preschoolers
- A chance to meet other local families
Our activities are designed with under-fives in mind, but older brothers and sisters are more than welcome to join the fun too. We’ll also be joined by some fantastic local organisations, including:
- Kernow Maternity and Neonatal Voices
- Local libraries
- Healthy Cornwall
- Together for Families
- WILD Young Parents Project
- Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise
- Cornwall Music Service
They’ll be bringing along fun activities, useful information and friendly faces, so it’s a great opportunity to discover what’s available for families in your local area.
Our picnics are about much more than crafts and games. They’re a chance for children to play, explore and make new friends, while parents and carers can enjoy a chat with others who understand the joys, and the chaos, of family life.
Sometimes the very best summer memories aren’t made on expensive days out, they’re made sitting on a picnic blanket, chasing bubbles and enjoying time together.
We can’t wait to see you this August!
