Make a mask and ask your child what can they see!

(Resource from Eden Project, Eden at home)

Child-sized, and carried by them, ‘curious eyes’ are a simple frame to look through which puts the learning in your child’s hands.

When they stop and focus on something on your walk, in the garden or through your window, follow their gaze and talk to them about it. Name it, describe its shape and colour, wonder what it’s doing and why they found it there.

Cut out the frame from cardboard and add playful details, like a ‘zoom’ button. Act out these functions – zooming in to take a closer look. You could create a list of things to hunt for too. If you don’t have any paper or card, simply make your hands in to C-shapes and look through them.
