We need your kindness to ensure local children and their families can continue benefiting from our support.
Home-Start Kernow is a local charity that has supported children and families throughout Cornwall since 2001. Your donations support a network of over 60 trained volunteers, parents themselves, who work across Cornwall giving one to one support to families who are struggling to cope with family life. Mums or dads may have issues with their mental health, isolation, loneliness, financial problems, unemployment, illness and disability which affect the whole family.
The need for our support has increased a lot during the pandemic, with more unemployment, depression and anxiety amongst parents. Now, more than ever, we need to raise funds to make sure we can carry on our work with families across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, so we have launched our Cascade of Kindness 20th anniversary fund-raising campaign.
What is it we’d like you to do? Well that’s easy!
We are asking you to choose something you can do to be sponsored for – big or small – make it fun! Next, get up to 20 friends to sponsor you. The next step is to donate and then pass the idea on to up to 20 friends. We know everyone is different so if you prefer, you can also make an individual donation. 🧡
Some fundraising ideas to get you going!
- Get sponsored for your first ever winter cold water swim. (Safely)
- Turn your Lockdown exercise into donations! Make a donation by doing any exercise you enjoy. Run, yoga session, cycle, the choice is yours!
- Family Star Jumps…the more the better…count and donate!
- Have you got Lockdown hair? Donate the cost of your hair appointment to us!
- Plant a tree/rose/shrub and make a donation to us.
- Have a sponsored run backwards race around your garden and get sponsorship per lap.
- Skipathon…get your rope out and get sponsored. Whether it’s donations for how long you can skip for or how many rope tricks you can do…a great fundraising idea for the experienced rope jumper! Get someone to video!
